Would you recommend a trip to Belarus? We’re thinking of covering for our blog but I’ve heard some bad things about the political situation there and I’m not sure it’s such a good place for a westerner. Although to be fair we heard the same things about Ukraine before Euro 2012 and we went and had a great time so it could just be scaremongering by the western media.

Sorry it took a while to reply to your message. Its been a busy week, I personally would recommend going to Belarus to anybody. Its a beautiful country that’s rich with history, beautiful women and great food. I would have to call Belarus a “Tiny Russia”. I would also have to agree with you that a lot of the negativity is just as you have called it “scaremongering by the western media”.
